The Academy of Science is Australia's representative on the International Council of Scientific Unions (ICSU) and 31 of its constituent bodies. The Academy has 32 National Committees which are widely representative of its disciplines. The broad aim of each committee is to foster their designated branch of natural science in Australia and serve as a link between Australian scientists and overseas scientists in the same field. These National Committees have the responsibility of liaising with the appropriate national and international bodies and advising the Academy's Council on ICSU business.  The particular aims of the National Committee for the Mathematical Sciences are to:

The purpose of this website is to

  • to provide information about the current activities of the National Committee
  • to provide links to other relevant mathematical organizations,
  • to act as a resource for matters within the ambit of the Committee, both nationally and internationally.
Further details of the content of the site can be obtained from the index which may be accessed by following the "Index" link above. Information will be revised and added on an irregular basis.
